In 60-minute classes, instructors take students from warm-ups and ballet-inspired stretches through cardio exercises and glute-sculpting ballet-barre work to develop dancer-like bodies. Using yoga and Pilates elements and with little or no equipment, barre classes focus on one specific muscle group at a time to improve core strength, posture, and alignment. Instructors suggest students wear long, yoga-style pants, a comfortable top, and socks to improve range of motion and keep idle muscles warm.
